The Journal of American History adalah jurnal akademik resmi Organisasi Sejarawan Amerika. Jurnal ini mencakup bidang sejarah Amerika dan didirikan pada 1914 sebagai Mississippi Valley Historical Review, jurnal resmi dari Asosiasi Sejarah Lembah Mississippi. Setelah penerbitan jilidnya yang kelima puluh, pengakuan adanya pergeseran arah keanggotaan dan keilmuannya menyebabkan perubahan nama pada 1964.
Jurnal ini berkantor pusat di Bloomington, Indiana, dan memiliki hubungan dekat dengan Departemen Sejarah di Universitas Indiana. Jurnal ini diterbitkan setiap triwulan pada bulan Maret, Juni, September, dan Desember.
