Berdasarkan pada novel The Lodger karya Marie Belloc Lowndes dan sandiwara Who Is He? yang ditulis oleh Belloc Lowndes, film tersebut berkisah tentang perburuan pembunuh berantai mirip "Jack the Ripper" di London.
