Zabol County (Persian: شهرستان زابل) is in Sistan and Baluchestan province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Zabol.
History
After the 2006 National Census, Hirmand District was separated from the county in the establishment of Hirmand County, which was divided into two districts and five rural districts, with Dust Mohammad as its capital and only city at the time.
After the 2011 census, Posht Ab District was separated from the county in the formation of Nimruz County, which was divided into two districts of two rural districts each, with Adimi as its capital and only city. In addition, Shib Ab District was also separated to form Hamun County, which was divided into two districts of two rural districts each, with the city of Mohammadabad as its capital.
After the 2016 census, Heydarabad Rural District was created in the Central District. Karbasak District was established and divided into Karbasak and Zhalehi Rural Districts.

=At the time of the 2006 census, the county's population was 317,357 in 67,778 households. The following census in 2011 counted 259,356 people in 63,645 households. The 2016 census measured the population of the county as 165,666 in 43,701 households.
