    Film 3 Days to Kill bercerita tentang Ethan Runner (Kevin Costner) yang menjadi mata-mata internasional berbahaya, ia bertekad menyerahkan hidupnya untuk istri dan putrinya, tetap merahasiakan siapa dia sebenarnya agar keluarganya terhindar dari bahaya. Namun, ada satu misi terakhir yang harus diselesaikannya - bahkan menjadi dua tugas terberat dalam perjalanan kariernya yaitu memburu teroris paling kejam di dunia dan merawat putrinya untuk pertama kalinya dalam sepuluh tahun, ketika istrinya berada di luar kota.
    7 Agustus 2012 Deadline melaporkan bahwa Kevin Costner sudah ditawari untuk memerankan sebagai Ethan Renner, bersama sutradara McG. Film yang mengambil lokasi di Prancis, ini skenarionya ditulis oleh Luc Besson dan Adi Hasak, bersama rumah produksi EuropaCorp, sementara Relativity Media merupakan pemegang hak distribusi di Amerika Utara. 2 Oktober 2012 telah dikonfirmasi bahwa Costner menutup kesepakatan untuk membintangi film tersebut.     On 7 January 2013, crews were filming scenes in Paris and Belgrade, and shooting wrapped in April. Some scenes in Paris were filmed in the studios and in the central nave of the Cité du Cinéma, founded by Luc Besson in Saint-Denis.
