Aaron H. Swartz (8 November 1986 – 11 Januari 2013) adalah pemrogram, aktivis internet, pengurus politik, aktivis, dan penulis asal Amerika Serikat.
Swartz terlibat dalam pengembangan format web feed RSS, organisasi Creative Commons, kerangka situs web.py dan situs berita sosial Reddit, di mana ia menjadi partner setelah merger dengan perusahaannya, Infogami.
Selanjutnya Swartz berfokus pada sosiologi, kesadaran masyarakat dan aktivisme. Dia membantu meluncurkan Komite Kampanye Perubahan Progresif pada tahun 2009 untuk mempelajari lebih lanjut tentang aktivisme daring yang efektif. Pada tahun 2010 ia menjadi peneliti di Universitas Harvard, Safra Research Lab tentang Korupsi Kelembagaan, yang dipimpin oleh Lawrence Lessig. Ia mendirikan kelompok Demand Progress secara daring, yang dikenal dalam kampanye melawan UU Anti Pembajakan (SOPA).
Pada tanggal 6 Januari 2011, Swartz ditangkap oleh polisi MIT atas tuduhan membobol masuk kampus dan secara sistematis mengunduh artikel-artikel jurnal akademik dari JSTOR. Jaksa federal kemudian menuduhnya dengan 2 tuduhan penipuan dan 11 pelanggaran terhadap Penyalahgunaan Komputer dan Pelanggaran UU, dengan hukuman maksimal denda kumulatif $1 juta, 35 tahun penjara, penyitaan aset, restitusi, dan diawasi.
Dua tahun kemudian, dua hari setelah jaksa menolak tawaran pengacaranya yang kedua, Swartz ditemukan tewas menggantung diri di apartemennya di Brooklyn, New York.
Pada Juni 2013, Swartz secara anumerta dianugerah Internet Hall of Fame.
