Oct 9, 2024 · I think you can’t lump all acropora into the same care requirements. I have several acropora colonies that have survived tank crashes and moves that have wiped out many of my montipora. Green Bali slimmer, hawkin’s echinata, Oregon Tort, several stag horn types and a purple table variety are some of my hardiest sps corals.

LeRoy did hit a home run with GARF Bonsai. Time is a factor that is needed in all of this, IMO. There was an encrusting monti craze a few years ago.

Jan 10, 2022 · Try hardy Acropora like A. yongeii or A. carduus start them at lower par then every few days move them to higher par if they seem to be doing OK. I had early on in my reef tried the same type of frag up to 3 times before I finally got it to thrive (usually a well known ORA frag I got on sale: cheap and hardy).

Mar 25, 2019 · My acropora grow steadily and color nice but my polyps never seem to extend as much as when I first receive a frag. It usually takes a couple weeks to a month for the polyps to recede sometimes 2 months...and they never disappear but they just get significantly smaller.
