    Adam David Willard (lahir 15 Agustus 1973), juga dikenal secara profesional dengan nama panggung Atom, adalah seorang drummer asal Amerika Serikat yang pernah tergabung dalam beberapa grup musik terkenal. Karier Willard sebagai drummer dimulai pada tahun 1990 ketika dia pertama kali bergabung dengan Rocket from the Crypt, dimana dia tergabung hingga pada tahun 2000 dia keluar. Sesudah itu dia tergabung bersama The Special Goodness selama 3 tahun. Willard kemudian bergabung bersama The Offspring, sebelum akhirnya pada tahun 2005 dia menjadi salah satu pendiri Angels & Airwaves. Pada tahun 2007 Willard mengumumkan bahwa dia resmi keluar dari The Offspring untuk fokus pada Angels & Airwaves.     = Rocket from the Crypt (1990–2000)

    Willard pertama kali tergabung dengan band rock asal San Diego, California Rocket from the Crypt pada tahun 1990, setelah drummer awal mereka, Sean, pindah dari kota tersebut. Pada sebuah wawancara tahun 2006, Willard bercerita tentang pengalamannya bersama Rocket from the Crypt:

    It was crazy, man. I was just 16, I would drive down to this kind of sketchy, strange rehearsal space in this part of town I'd never been, and there were people living in some of the spaces. It was just weird, and everybody was older than me. But the sound was rad. It was a lot of soul, a lot of Otis Redding, James Brown–but it was up against a serious punk rock influence, and just regular rock 'n' roll. Every song had four personalities!

    Willard mulai berkontribusi pada album kedua Rocket from the Crypt Circa: Now! (1992) dilanjutkan beberapa album berikutnya seperti Hot Charity (1995), Scream, Dracula, Scream! (1995), dan RFTC (1998), termasuk beragam EP dan singel. Selama kariernya bersama band ini, Willard ikut serta dalam tour di Amerika Serikat dan Eropa. And we all could. I wanted some changes and Speedo and I were kind of at odds on that stuff; we disagreed on how we should go about it.

    = The Special Goodness dan proyek sementara (2000-2003)

    Setelah meninggalkan Rocket from the Crypt, Willard mulai bekerja sebagai teknisi drummer untuk Weezer. Masih pada tahun 2000, dia mulai mengisi sebagai drummer tour untuk Alkaline Trio dan tampil bersama mereka di video musik untuk singel "Private Eye". Dia kemudian bergabung dengan drummer Weezer Patrick Wilson dalam proyek sampingannya, The Special Goodness, dimana Willard mengisi posisi drum dan Wilson mengambil posisi vokal serta bermain gitar.     Pada tahun 2003, Willard resmi menjadi anggota tetap bagi band The Offspring, menggantikan posisi drummer Ron Welty yang keluar pada awal tahun. Selama posisi Willard sebagai anggota tetap bersama The Offspring, dia tampil di semua pertunjukan dan tour namun tidak pernah berkontribusi dalam album apapun. Drummer Josh Freese telah merekam track drum untuk album The Offspring tahun 2003 Splinter pasca keluarnya Welty. Willard baru bergabung sesaat sebelum rilis album dan mulai tampil bersama mereka dalam video musik untuk singel "(Can't Get My) Head Around You". Namun pada tahun 2005, dia mulai ikut mendirikan Angels & Airwaves dan komitmennya terhadap grup barunya mulai menjauhkannya dari The Offspring.     he simple truth is that Atom had been working on a few of his own projects during our down time, including Angels & Airwaves but other things too. We think that's great. Unfortunately, in order for him to see those things through he isn't left with enough time to devote to future Offspring stuff. It was a tough choice, but we understand. Atom's been a great drummer for us and we're sure Pete will be great too!


    = Angels & Airwaves (2005–2011)

    Ketika The Offspring mengambil masa istirahat dari tour pada 2006, Willard bergabung dengan Tom DeLonge dalam grup barunya Angels & Airwaves. DeLonge barkata bahwa Willard “has always felt to me like the single largest score in music.     = Social Distortion (2009-2010)

    Pada bulan April 2009, Willard menggantikan posisi Charlie Quintana di band Social Distortion. Willard mulai melakukan tour mengelilingi Europe dan Amerika Serikat bersama Social Distortion pada 2009. Dia juga direncanakan ikut dalam tour Amerika Latin pada April 2010 dan telah bekerja di studio untuk album studio ketujuh Social Distortion. Namun pada 8 Maret 2010, dikarenakan konflik jadwal dengan Angels & Airwaves, Willard tidak lagi menjadi bagian dari Social Distortion. Dia segera digantikan oleh drummer Fu Manchu, Scott Reeder, untuk tour Amerika Latin.


    = The Hell dan Danko Jones (2011-sekarang)

    Pada Februari 2011, Atom bergabung dengan Matt Skiba dari Alkaline Trio pada proyek sampingan The Hell. Dilaporkan bahwa pada November 2011, The Hell telah merekam empat lagu dan sedang mengerjakan lagu lainnya.
    Pada 8 Juni 2011, diumumkan bahwa Atom Willard telah bergabung dengan grup asal Kanada, Danko Jones.
