Aglet ( ) atau aiglet adalah pembungkus kecil, atau bagian kecil yang dapat diemukan pada ujung tali, sering terbuat dari plastik atau logam, biasanya terdapat disetiap ujung tali sepatu, tali, atau tali serut. Aglet berperan untuk menjaga serat tali agar tidak terurai dan rusak, kekokohannya dan bentuknya yang kecil membuatnya lebih mudah digunakan dan lebih mudah dimasukkan melalui lubang tali, cincin tepi, dan tempat pemandu tali lainnya.




Etimologi


Kata aglet atau aiglet berasal dari kata bahasa Perancis pertengahan dan Perancis Kuno aguillette, bentuk lain dari aguille , yang berarti "jarum atau peniti", yang berasal dari bahasa latin akhir acucula ("peniti hias atau jarum pinus"), bentuk kecil dari acus, kata Latin untuk jarum atau peniti.

Saat ini, aglet dengan plastik bening pada ujung tali sepatu dipasang dengan mesin khusus. Mesin tersebut akan melilitkan plastik berbentuk perban di ujung tali sepatu dan menggunakan energi panas atau bahan kimia untuk melelehkan plastik pada tali sepatu dan membuat plastik saling merekat atau menyatu
