Anaplasma adalah genus bakteri dalam famili Anaplasmataceae (dulu Ehrlichiaceae) dan ordo Rickettsiales. Spesies-spesies Anaplasma tergolong bakteri Gram-negatif, hidup di dalam sel darah merah inangnya, dan mengakibatkan penyakit yang disebut anaplasmosis. Penyakit ini paling sering terjadi di daerah-daerah yang terdapat vektor alami yang kompeten, termasuk di daerah tropis dan subtropis.
Selain gigitan vektor kutu dan lalat, beberapa spesies Anaplasma juga bisa ditularkan secara iatrogenik melalui peralatan yang terkontaminasi darah. Salah satu dampak utama dari infeksi Anaplasma marginale pada sel darah merah sapi adalah berkembangnya anemia nonhemolitik sehingga ketiadaan hemoglobinurea memungkinkan diferensiasi klinis anaplasmosis dari penyakit-penyakit bawaan kutu lainnya, seperti babesiosis sapi yang disebabkan oleh Babesia bigemina.
