Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) adalah organisasi akuntansi profesional dunia yang didirikan pada tahun 1904 dan memberikan kualifikasi Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA). Asosiasi ini memiliki lebih dari 233.000 anggota dan 536.000 calon anggota di seluruh dunia. Kantor pusat ACCA berada di London dengan kantor administrasi utama di Glasgow . Sejarah
Sejarah ACCA dimulai pada tahun 1904, ketika delapan orang membentuk Asosiasi Akuntan London atau London Association of Accountants untuk membuka akses lebih terbuka kepada profesi akuntan dari asosiasi akuntansi pada saat itu, terutama Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) dan Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS). Sejak 2020, visi ACCA adalah untuk mengembangkan profesi akuntan untuk memenuhi tantangan global.
Tanggal penting dalam sejarah ACCA:
1909: Ethel Ayres Purdie ditunjuk sebagai anggota asosiasi wanita pertama dari sebuah organisasi profesi akuntansi.

1995: Anggota ACCA memberikan suara dalam rapat umum luar biasa untuk mengganti nama Association of Chartered Public Accountants dan memperkenalkan gelar Chartered Public Accountant. Dewan Penasihat kemudian menolak proposal ini karena kekhawatiran tentang istilah 'publik'. Namun Dewan setuju bahwa setiap organisasi akuntansi yang menyandang piagam kerajaan dapat menggunakan 'chartered' sebagai bagian dari gelar profesi.
1996: Chartered Association of Certified Accountants berubah nama menjadi Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. Anggota berhak menggunakan gelar Chartered Certified Accountant (gelar titel ACCA atau FCCA). Association of Authorized Public Accountants (AAPA) menjadi anak perusahaan ACCA. Organisasi ini mendapatkan Queen's Award pertamanya, untuk Prestasi Ekspor.
1998: Silabus ACCA menjadi dasar dari kurikulum akuntansi global PBB berjudul Guideline on National Requirements for the Qualification of Professional Accountants, diterbitkan pada tahun 1999. ACCA adalah peserta dalam kelompok konsultatif yang merancang tolok ukur global ini.
2001: ACCA menerima Queen's Award for Enterprise: Perdagangan Internasional, mengakui pertumbuhan ACCA dan perannya di 160 negara di seluruh dunia.
2002: ACCA menerima Queen's Award for Enterprise kedua dalam kurun waktu 12 bulan, dalam kategori Pembangunan Berkelanjutan. Penghargaan ini mengakui kerja berkelanjutan ACCA dalam isu-isu sosial dan lingkungan.

2017: ACCA mencapai lebih dari 700.000 anggota dan siswa di seluruh dunia, dengan 208.000 anggota yang terkualifikasi dan 503.000 siswa di 178 negara.

Keanggotaan
= Affiliate
=Kandidat mendaftar sebagai anggota siswa untuk mendapatkan kualifikasi profesional.
Saat menyelesaikan semua ujian, anggota siswa berubah status menjadi Afiliate.
Agar Afiliate ACCA diterima sebagai anggota penuh, mereka harus membuktikan, dalam form aplikasi, bahwa mereka sudah mendapatkan minimum tiga tahun pengalaman praktik yang dapat diterima dengan supervisi dalam peran akuntansi juga sudah memenuhi standar kompetensi.
= Fellowship
=Sejak tahun 2008, Fellowship, atau keanggotaan senior ACCA, adalah sebuah titel yang diberikan secara otomatis setelah menjadi anggota berturut-turut selama 5 tahun dan memenuhi standar kepatuhan dalam Pengembangan Profesi .
Anggota ACCA ini dapat menggunakan title FCCA menggantikan ACCA.
= Pengembangan Profesi
=Sebelum 2005, Pengembangan Profesi atau Continuing Professional Development (CPD) adalah kewajiban bagi pemegang 'Sertifikat Praktik' dan 'Lisensi Kepailitan'. Dari 2005 sampai 2007, ACCA menjadikan Pengembangan Profesi atau CPD kewajiban bagi seluruh anggota.
