Atom Egoyan, (lahir 19 Juli 1960) adalah seorang sutradara film dan panggung, penulis dan produser asal Kanada. Egoyan membuat puncak kariernya dengan film Exotica (1994), sebuah film yang utamanya berlatar belakang di dalam dan di sekitar klub penari telanjang Exotica fiksi. Film paling terkenal Egoyan adalah film drama The Sweet Hereafter (1997), di mana ia meraih dua nominasi Academy Award, dan kesuksesan komersial terbesarnya adalah film cerita seru erotis Chloe (2009).

Jan 14, 2023 · This has a different cover, but the original Atom Egoyan blu-ray set was one of the main reasons I went region free six or seven years ago. The films all look and sound good, and I was so happy to finally own them in decent quality. A few special features would have been nice, though. I assume this set is just a reprint with the same discs?
Sep 14, 2019 · Many of his early films have DVD releases only in the US & Canada, & the ones that do have Blu-ray releases have some issues (the color grading on the Alliance Blu-ray of The Sweet Hereafter is not the best). Therefore, I would love to see a box set of the early Atom Egoyan films, namely the following: Next of Kin (1984) Family Viewing (1987)
Jun 8, 2023 · Characters in the film, 'Exotica' all operate in the same manner. Positioning themselves within their realities. Both real and fabricated. Choosing which story to live in. All playing into Egoyan's themes of identity, catharsis, and fabricated realities. Most of the film's narrative shows characters operating in a pseudo-environment.
May 16, 2024 · I saw Atom Egoyan the other day eating a pizza slice on the street, hiding under a store's awning because it suddenly started raining. There was something very endearing about seeing a legend in a very relatable, human situation haha.

Family Viewing is the one with the worst picture quality (probably because of the camera’s Atom used back then) He did a lot of low budget movies, he even re-used a bunch of actors for the movies. The best picture quality is from The Sweet Hereafter, this is the one with the biggest budget i think.
Jul 17, 2022 · I have seen several of Atom Egoyan's films, but most of them were from some time ago. I've seen The Adjuster, Exotica, The Sweet Hereafter, and Ararat, all of which are at least 20 years old. I thought the first three were outstanding, and I am very pleased that Criterion is releasing Exotica in September; so far, that's my favorite film of his.

Watch The Sweet Hereafter next (another great Atom Egoyan film) As a canadian I always ignored canadian cinema, but since opening myself up to it I realized we make really good films up here. The work of Atom Egoyan, Guy Maddin and Sarah Polley are essential.
