Ben Shalom Bernanke ( lahir 13 Desember 1953) adalah ekonom Brookings Institution asal Amerika Serikat yang sudah dua kali menjabat sebagai ketua Federal Reserve, bank sentral Amerika Serikat, pada tahun 2006 sampai 2014. Bernanke memimpin operasi Federal Reserve setelah krisis keuangan akhir 2000-an. Sebelum menjadi ketua Federal Reserve, Bernanke merupakan dosen Universitas Princeton dan kepala departemen ekonomi Princeton sejak 1996 sampai September 2002. Ia kemudian mengambil cuti dari layanan masyarakat.
Pada tahun 2002 hingga 2005, ia menjabat sebagai anggota Dewan Gubernur Federal Reserve System, mengusulkan Doktrin Bernanke, dan memperkenalkan "Moderasi Besar", teori bahwa siklus bisnis tradisional mengalami penurunan volatilitas dalam beberapa dasawarsa terakhir setelah beberapa perubahan struktural yang terjadi dalam ekonomi internasional, khususnya peningkatan kestabilan ekonomi negara-negara berkembang, sehingga mengurangi dampak kebijakan ekonomi makro (moneter dan fiskal).
Bernanke kemudian menjadi ketua Dewan Penasihat Ekonomi Presiden George W. Bush sebelum Bush mencalonkannya sebagai pengganti Alan Greenspan selaku ketua Federal Reserve Amerika Serikat. Masa jabatan pertamanya dimulai tanggal 1 Februari 2006. Bernanke dilantik untuk kedua kalinya pada 28 Januari 2010 setelah dicalonkan oleh Presiden Barack Obama. Masa jabatan keduanya berakhir tanggal 1 Februari 2014 dan digantikan oleh Janet Yellen. Pada tahun 2022, ia terpilih sebagai penerima Penghargaan Nobel dalam bidang Ekonomi tahun 2022 bersama dengan Douglas Warren Diamond dan Philip H. Dybvig untuk penelitian mereka tentang bank dan krisis keuangan.
