    • Cantel atau gandrung (Sorghum bicolor), atau umumnya dikenal sebagai sorgum, adalah tanaman serbaguna yang dapat digunakan sebagai sumber pangan (serealia, sirup), pakan ternak dan bahan baku industri (alkohol, biofuel). Sebagai bahan pangan, cantel ini berada pada urutan ke-5 setelah gandum, jagung, padi, dan jelai. Berasal dari Afrika utara, Sorghum bicolor kini banyak dibudidayakan di pelbagai bagian dunia dan merupakan bahan makanan pokok penting di Afrika, Asia Selatan dan Amerika Tengah.
    Rumput besar ini telah semenjak zaman dahulu ditanam di banyak tempat di Nusantara, meskipun umumnya tidak secara besar-besaran. Rumphius telah melihatnya ditanam di mana-mana, termasuk di Jawa, Sulawesi Selatan, Banggai, Buru, dan Ambon. Ia menyebutnya dalam bahasa Latin dengan nama sorgum, sementara orang-orang lokal mengenalnya sebagai battari (Mly.), batar (Mak.), atau jagomutri (Jw.). Nama-nama lainnya, di antaranya, jaba bĕndil, jaba bĕngkok (Bat.); jagung roté, jawaras, gandum, gĕndum (Mly.); jaguĕng garai, gandun (Mink.); jagung cĕtrik, gandrum, gandrung, goel (Sd.); cantèl, gandum, jagung cantèl, j. inda, j. pari, oncèr (Jw.); jhaghung bhulir, oncèr (Md.); batara tojèng (Mak.); bata (Bug.); sĕla (Flores); dela (Solor); péla’ dae’, péla hik (Rote); téraé hawu (Sawu); wataru hamu (Sumba); dll.
