    Cheburashka (bahasa Rusia: Чебура́шка; IPA: [tɕɪbʊˈraʂkə] ( simak)), juga dikenal sebagai Topple dalam terjemahan bahasa Inggris sebelumnya, adalah karakter dalam sastra anak-anak, dari cerita tahun 1966 oleh penulis Soviet Eduard Uspensky. Dia juga merupakan protagonis (disuarakan oleh Klara Rumyanova) dari film animasi gerak henti oleh Roman Kachanov (studio Soyuzmultfilm), film pertama yang dibuat pada tahun 1969.


    Cerita


    Cheburashka (bahasa Rusia: Чебурашка) adalah karakter kartun klasik ikonik Rusia yang kemudian menjadi karakter populer di lelucon Rusia (bersama dengan temannya, Buaya Gena). Menurut pencipta karakter, Eduard Uspensky (1965), Cheburashka adalah "binatang yang tidak diketahui untuk ilmu pengetahuan", dengan telinga seperti monyet besar dan tubuh yang menyerupai seekor anak, yang tinggal di hutan tropis. Dia sengaja masuk ke peti jeruk, makan kenyang, dan jatuh tertidur. Peti akhirnya dikirim ke toko kelontong di sebuah kota Rusia yang tidak disebutkan namanya (mengisyaratkan untuk menjadi Moskow), di mana sisa cerita utama terungkap.
    Manajer toko bingung menemukan makhluk dalam peti ketika dia membukanya, dan membawanya keluar dan duduk dia atas meja. Cakar makhluk itu mati rasa setelah tinggal di peti begitu lama, dan dia terjatuh ("чебурахнулся" cheburakhnulsya, sebuah ucapan sehari-hari bahasa Rusia berarti "jatuh") dari meja, ke kursi, dan kemudian ke lantai.
