Chlorobi adalah filum dari bakteri fototrof anaerob obligat. Filum ini terbagi menjadi dua kelas, yaitu Chlorobia dan Ignavibacteria.
Salah satu anggota yang dikenal dalam filum ini adalah bakteri belerang hijau dalam famili Chlorobiaceae, yang umumnya tidak dapat bergerak (satu spesies memiliki flagelum), dan berbentuk kokus, basil, dan spiral. Lingkungan mereka harus bebas oksigen, dan mereka butuh cahaya untuk tumbuh. Salah satu spesies bakteri belerang hijau telah ditemukan hidup dekat asap hitam di lepas pantai Meksiko pada kedalaman 2.500 m di Samudera Pasifik. Pada kedalaman ini, bakteri yang dinamai GSB1 itu hidup dalam lingkungan yang kurang bercahaya dari ventilasi termal karena sinar matahari tidak dapat menembus kedalaman tersebut. Bakteri belerang hijau terlihat di Danau Matano, Indonesia, pada kedalaman sekitar 110–120 m. Populasinya mungkin meliputi spesies Chlorobium ferrooxidans.
