Dalam mitologi Aztek, Cihuateteo (atau Ciuteoteo, Ciuateoteo, Civateteo) adalah arwah dari perempuan yang meninggal ketika sedang melahirkan. Persalinan dianggap sebagai sebuah pertempuran, dan korbannya dianggap sebagai prajutit yang gugur. Tubuh mereka dipercaya mampu memperkuat para prajurit dalam pertempuran sebenarnya sementara arwah mereka berubah menjadi Cihuateteo, hantu menakutkan yang menemani terbenamnya matahari. Mereka juga menghantui persimpangan jalan pada malam hari, menculik anak-anak, dan menggoda laki-laki untuk berhubungan seksual.
