    Plot


    Phil dan Claire Foster (Steve Carell dan Tina Fey) adalah pasangan suami istri dari New Jersey yang mempunyai 2 orang anak dan kehidupan rumah tangga mereka menjadi membosankan. Phil adalah seorang pengacara pajak sementara claire adalah seorang agen real estate. Mereka termotivasi untuk menyalakan kembali asmara mereka setelah mengetahui bahwa teman baik mereka, Brad dan Haley (Mark Ruffalo dan Kristen Wiig), berencana untuk bercerai untuk melarikan diri dari kehidupan rumah tangga mereka dan memiliki lebih banyak kegembiraan dalam hidup mereka.
    Untuk menghindari rutinitas yang telah menjadi acara malam kencan mingguan mereka, Phil memutuskan untuk membawa Claire ke restoran di Manhattan, tetapi mereka tidak dapat meja. Phil mengambil reservasi pasangan yang tidak datang, Tripplehorns, meskipun Claire ragu. Saat makan, mereka didatangi dua laki-laki, Collins (Common) dan Armstrong (Jimmi Simpson) yang bertanya kepada mereka tentang flash drive yang mereka percaya telah dicuri Phil dan Claire dari bos gangster Joe Miletto (Ray Liotta).
