Diplodocidae ("dua balok"), adalah kelompok dinosaurus sauropoda. Famili ini termasuk beberapa makhluk darat terpanjang yang pernah ada di bumi, termasuk Diplodocus dan Supersaurus, beberapa mungkin memiliki panjang sampai 34 meter (112 ft).
Deskripsi
Meskipun anggota Diplodocidae berukuran besar, mereka relatif ramping dibanding Titanosauria dan Brachiosauridae, meskipun tubuh mereka juga sangat panjang. Mereka memiliki kaki pendek, membuat mereka seperti "dachshund" dari dinosaurus raksasa, dan kaki belakang mereka lebih panjang daripada kaki depannya, membuat punggungnya menjadi melekuk ke bawah sampai leher, yang menjadi ciri khas kelompok ini.
Lehernya juga sangat panjang. Menurut simulasi komputer terkini, mereka mungkin tidak dapat mengangkat lehernya seperti sauropoda lain.
