    Facing the Giants adalah sebuah film drama Kristen dari Amerika Serikat tahun 2006. Alex Kendrick adalah sutradara dan sekaligus pemeran utama. Pemeran pendukung meliputi para sukarelawan dari Sherwood Baptist Church, dan film ini adalah film kedua yang diproduksi oleh Sherwood Pictures. Syuting film dilakukan di Albany, Georgia. Film ini mengisahkan petualangan tim sepak bola Amerika pada suatu sekolah menengah atas dari sudut pandang orang Kristen.
    Film ini dirilis dalam bentuk DVD pada awal tahun 2007 dan ditayangkan pertama kalinya di televisi pada tanggal 21 September 2008 pada Trinity Broadcasting Network.


    Plot


    Grant Taylor (Alex Kendrick) adalah pelatih kepala pada Shiloh Christian Academy, yang selama 6 tahun menjabat belum berhasil memperoleh hasil positif.
    Grant Taylor menciptakan filsafat pelatihan baru dan memutuskan untuk memuliakan Allah, apapun hasilnya. Pada saat yang sama ia membimbing dan menghimbau setiap pemainnya untuk menyerahkan upaya pada Allah. Sejak itu Eagles hanya kalah satu kali dan maju ke final negara bagian menghadapi juara bertahan tiga kali "Richland Giants". Meskipun Eagles hanya mempunyai sepertiga jumlah pemain dibandingkan dengan Giants, Eagles berhasil bertahan dan akhirnya menang berkat tendangan field goal dari jarak 51-yard oleh seorang backup kicker yang belum pernah menendang lebih jauh dari 35 yard sebelumnya. Doa Grant dikabulkan ketika Brooke, istrinya, hamil.

    Pada akhir minggu pertama, film ini dibuka pada 441 screen di Amerika Serikat. Meskipun jumlah gedung bioskop hanya sedikit, film ini meraih peringkat ke-12 dengan jumlah pendapatan $1,343,537. Hanya 3 film pada sepuluh besar yang memperoleh penghasilan akhir minggu lebih darinya per gedung bioskop. Dengan anggaran hanya sebesar $100,000, film itu akhirnya ditayangkan pada lebih dari 1.000 gedung bioskop dan memperoleh pendapatan kotor sejumlah $10,178,331. Film ini mulai ditayangkan di Korea Selatan pada tanggal 16 April 2010, dan akhirnya memperoleh $64,828. Jumlah hasil dari seluruh dunia (sampai 20 Juni 2010) untuk film ini berjumlah $10,243,159. Penjualan DVD juga sangat kuat, dengan jumlah 2,3 juta unit terjual di 57 negara.

    Pada bulan Mei 2006, produser film Facing the Giants mendapat pemberitahuan dari Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) bahwa film itu akan mendapat rating "Parental Guidance Suggested" atau PG. The Drudge Report menayangkan berita ini pada tanggal 8 Juni 2006, yang menimbulkan kontroversi dengan tuduhan bahwa film ini diberi rating "PG" hanya karena tema agamawi. The New York Times, Good Morning America, Fox News, dan banyak talk radio program memantau cerita ini.
    Menurut produser film, mereka diberitahu bahwa film itu mendapat rating PG karena tema agamawi kuat dan karena meninggikan satu agama di atas yang lain. Namun, MPAA kemudian menjelaskan bahwa Facing the Giants memuat kekerasan sepak bola dan juga berkaitan dengan topik orang dewasa antara lain masalah tidak bisa punya anak dan depresi.
    Kendrick bersaudara sudah memperkirakan akan mendapat rating PG karena ada topik untuk orang dewasa dalam film ini sehingga tidak mengajukan banding terhadap rating yang diberikan.
