Aplikasi ini dirilis oleh Google pada 5 Desember 2017 dengan versi custom untuk wilayah Tiongkok yang dirilis pada 30 Mei 2018.
Pada 9 Agustus 2021, aplikasi diperbarui agar memiliki desain Material You, dengan tombol dan label yang lebih besar, serta dukungan Dynamic Theming pada Android 12.
Files created in Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, or Forms open in your web browser. Other files, like Word docs or .pdf files, open in their default programs on your computer. Tip: If your Drive and "My Drive" folder is empty, you can’t find the "Shared Drives" or "Other Computers" views.

Click Start and type "cleanmgr" and hit enter. OK the C: drive to clean. Disk Cleanup will present a list of file types to delete. Scroll the list until you come to Temporary Files, which will not be checked. Check the item. Click OK and confirm. Temp files not included in the item to clean are handled by thier parent applications on exit.
Jun 21, 2016 · When I click on File Explorer I am taken immediately to Quick Access, where only a few files are shown. I desperately need to be able to access all files - especially my Downloads. I was always able to do this in File Explorer - I don't even know where Quick Access came from.
