Personal System/2, disingkat PS/2 adalah generasi kedua dari komputer pribadi IBM. Dirilis pada tahun 1987, komputer ini secara resmi menggantikan IBM PC, XT, AT, dan PC Convertible dalam jajaran produk IBM. IBM PS/2 memperkenalkan banyak inovasi, seperti UART 16550 (port serial), format disket 3,5 inci 1440 KB, SIMM 72-pin, port PS/2, dan standar video VGA, yang kemudian menjadi standar di pasar PC yang lebih luas.
Lini PS/2 diciptakan oleh IBM sebagian dalam upaya untuk merebut kembali kendali pasar PC dengan memperkenalkan bus MCA (Micro Channel Architecture) yang canggih namun eksklusif pada model-model kelas atas. Model-model ini berada dalam posisi yang aneh karena tidak kompatibel dengan standar perangkat keras yang sebelumnya dibuat oleh IBM dan diadopsi dalam industri komputer kompatibel PC IBM. Komputer PS/2 awal dari IBM sangat populer di kalangan pembeli korporat yang menjadi target pasar, dan pada bulan September 1988, IBM melaporkan bahwa mereka telah menjual 3 juta unit PS/2. Ini hanya 18 bulan setelah jajaran produk baru ini diperkenalkan.
Sebagian besar produsen PC besar menolak persyaratan lisensi IBM untuk perangkat keras yang kompatibel dengan MCA, terutama royalti per mesin. Pada tahun 1992, Macworld menyatakan bahwa "IBM kehilangan kendali atas pasarnya sendiri dan menjadi pemain kecil dengan teknologinya sendiri." IBM secara resmi menghentikan produksi PS/2 pada bulan Juli 1995.
Sistem operasi OS/2 diumumkan pada saat yang sama dengan lini PS/2 dan dimaksudkan untuk menjadi sistem operasi utama untuk model dengan prosesor Intel 80286 atau yang lebih baru. Namun, pada saat pengiriman pertama, hanya IBM PC DOS 3.3 yang tersedia. OS/2 1.0 (hanya mode teks) dan Windows 2.0 dari Microsoft tersedia beberapa bulan kemudian. IBM juga merilis AIX PS/2, sebuah sistem operasi UNIX untuk model PS/2 dengan prosesor Intel 386 atau yang lebih baru.
