Jabiru adalah jenis burung bangau yang berhabitat asli di hutan hujan Amerika Tengah sampai Amerika Selatan, kecuali sebelah barat Pegunungan Andes. Burung ini bisa tumbuh tinggi sampai 1,5 meter dengan lebar rentang sayap sampai 2,1 meter. Paruh berwarna hitam dapat mencapai panjang 30 cm. Tubuhnya berbulu dan berwarna putih bersih. Jabiru berhabitat di tempat basah (biasa dekat sungai atau rawa-rawa) dan memangsa hewan-hewan kecil. Jika ia dewasa ada ciri khas leher yang menggelembung berwarna hitam dan sedikit merah pada bagian bawah.
Nama jabiru berasal dari bahasa Tupi-Guaraní yang artinya "leher bengkak".
