Kentaro Miura (三浦 建太郎code: ja is deprecated , Miura Kentarō) (11 Juli 1966 – 6 Mei 2021) adalah seorang mangaka asal Jepang. Dia terkenal karena karyanya, Berserk, yang memulai serialisasi pada 1989. Dia meninggal dunia akibat diseksi aorta dalam usia 54 tahun.
Karier
Kentaro Miura lahir di Kota Chiba, Prefektur Chiba, Jepang, pada tahun 1966. Pada 1976, saat berusia 10 tahun, Miura membuat manga pertamanya, diberi judul Miuranger, yang diterbitkan oleh teman sekelasnya dalam majalah sekolah; manga ini berakhir setelah mencapai 40 volume. Pada 1977, Miura membuat manga keduanya yang berjudul Ken e no michi (剣への道 Jalan menuju Pedang), pertama kalinya menggunakan tinta India. Saat di sekolah menengah pada 1979, teknik menggambar Miura meningkat setelah ia mulai menggunakan teknik menggambar profesional. Dōjinshi pertamanya diterbitkan dalam sebuah majalah pada 1982.
Dalam tahun yang sama, pada 1982, Miura mendaftar ke dalam kurikulum artistik di sekolah tinggi, dimana ia dan teman sekelasnya mulai menerbitkan karya mereka di buklet sekolah. Miura pada usia 18 tahun bekerja sebagai asisten assistant dari George Morikawa, mangaka Hajime no Ippo. Morikawa secara cepat mengakui kemampuan Miuras lalu memberhentikannya. Morikawa menyatakan tidak ada lagi yang bisa ia ajarkan kepada Miura. Pada 1985, Miura mendaftar ujian masuk sekolah seni di Universitas Nihon. Kematian
Pada 20 Mei 2021, departemen editorial Hakusensha menyatakan bahwa Miura meninggal dunia pada 6 Mei 2021 akibat diseksi aorta akut.
