Khaled Hosseini (bahasa Persia: خالد حسینی [ˈxɒled hoˈsejni]; ; lahir 4 Maret 1965) adalah seorang novelis dan dokter berkebangsaan Amerika Serikat kelahiran Afganistan Setelah lulus dari bangku kuliah, ia bekerja sebagai dokter di California – sebuah profesi yang ia samakan dengan "perjodohan". Hosseini telah menerbitkan tiga novel, dengan The Kite Runner yang paling terkenal. Dalam seluruh novelnya, Afganistan diambil sebagai latar tempat dan warga negara tersebut sebagai protagonis. Menyusul kesuksesan novel debutnya tersebut, ia memutuskan berhenti berkarier sebagai dokter dan menjadi penulis penuh waktu.
Hosseini lahir di Kabul, Afganistan. Ayahnya bekerja sebagai seorang diplomat, dan ketika Hosseini berusia 11 tahun, keluarganya pindah ke Prancis. Empat tahun kemudian, keluarga tersebut meminta suaka ke Amerika Serikat, di mana ia kemudian menjadi warga negara. Hosseini tidak pernah kembali ke Afganistan sampai tahun 2003, ketika ia berusia 38 tahun, di mana ia merasa bagai turis di negeri sendiri. Dalam berbagai wawancara terkait pengalamannya, ia mengakui terkadang merasa bersalah karena berhasil meninggalkan negerinya di tengah kecamuk invasi Uni Soviet dan perang-perang lanjutannya.
Keseluruhan tiga novel karyanya menjadi buku yang laris, dengan The Kite Runner menduduki daftar buku terlaris selama 101 minggu. The Kite Runner diikuti oleh A Thousand Splendid Suns pada tahun 2007 dan And The Mountains Echoed pada tahun 2013.
