Kiyoshi Kurosawa (黒沢 清code: ja is deprecated , Kurosawa Kiyoshi, kelahiran 19 Juli 1955) adalah seorang sutradara film, penulis latar, kritikus film, dan profesor Jepang di Universitas Kesenian Tokyo. Ia paling dikenal karena beberapa kontribusinya pada film bergenre horor Jepang.
Biografi
Lahir di Kobe pada 19 Juli 1955, Kiyoshi Kurosawa tidak ada hubungannya dengan sutradara Akira Kurosawa. Setelah menempuh pendidikan di Universitas Rikkyo di Tokyo dibawah pemanduan kritikus film berpengaruh Shigehiko Hasumi, ketika ia mulai membuat film-film 8mm, Kurosawa mulai menyutradarai secara komersial pada 1980an, berkarya pada film-film pink dan pembuatan V-Cinema (penyutradaraan video) berbiaya rendah seperti rumus film-film yakuza.
Pada awal 1990an, Kurosawa mendapatkan beasiswa ke Institut Sundance dan berkesempatan untuk mempelajari pembuatan film di Amerika Serikat.
Pada 2001, ia menyutradarai film horor Pulse. Kurosawa merilis Bright Future, yang dibintangi oleh Tadanobu Asano, Joe Odagiri dan Tatsuya Fuji, pada 2003. Film tersebut disusul dengan film pilihan digital lainnya, Doppelganger, pada tahun yang sama.
Ia telah menulis sebuah novelisasi dari film buatannya Pulse, serta sejarah sinema horor bersama dengan Makoto Shinozaki.
Pada September 2012, ia mengumumkan bahwa ia akan menyutradarai 1905, sebuah film yang dibintangi oleh Tony Leung Chiu-Wai, Shota Matsuda dan Atsuko Maeda. Pada Februari 2013, ia mengumumkan bahwa pembuatan film tersebut dibatalkan sebelum pemfilman dimulai.
Kurosawa menyutradarai drama televisi lima bagian 2012 Penance. Beautiful 2013, sebuah film antologi menampilkan Beautiful New Bay Area Project karya Kurosawa, diputar di Festival Film Internasional Hong Kong pada 2013.
