    'Lingzhi atau ling zhi (Hanzi tradisional: 靈芝; Hanzi Sederhana: 灵芝; Bahasa Jepang: reishi; Bahasa Korea: yeongji, hangul: 영지) adalah sejenis jamur bernama latin Ganoderma lucidum berwarna merah dengan distribusi terbatas di Eropa dan sebagian Tiongkok, di mana ia tumbuh di pohon kayu keras yang membusuk yang terkenal akan manfaat pengobatannya.


    Sejarah


    Menurut sejarah Cina, ling zhi ditemukan oleh seorang petani bernama Shen Nong, dan dicatat dalam bukunya, Shen Nong Herbal Classic. Ia dijuluki sebagai petani yang suci (holyfarmer). Seng Nong menyatakan, kriteria unggul nilai atau manfaat dari sebuah tanaman obat adalah bila dikonsumsi dalam jangka waktu lama tidak menimbulkan efek samping. Pada zaman Dinasti Shu, sekitar 2400 tahun lalu, ling zhi hanya dikonsumsi untuk pengobatan para maharaja dan bangsawan di negeri Cina. Pada masa itu, ling zhi masih langka.
    Sejak tahun 1971, seorang peneliti dari Universitas Kyoto, Jepang, bernama Yukio Naoi mulai membudidayakan ling zhi. Melalui eksperimen-eksperimennya, akhirnya ia berhasil menemukan cara menumbuhkan ling zhi menggunakan limbah pertanian dan kayu-kayu yang telah lapuk.


    Senyawa aktif


    Tubuh Ganoderma lucidum mengandung lebih dari 200 senyawa aktif yang dapat dibagi menjadi tiga kelompok utama, yakni 30% senyawa larut dalam air, 65% senyawa larut dalam pelarut organik, dan 5% senyawa volatil. Polisakarida dan germanium organik merupakan senyawa larut dalam air. Adenosin dan terpenoid adalah senyawa yang larut dalam pelarut organik, sedangkan asam ganoderat termasuk senyawa volatil.

    Sifat dan khasiat


    Ling zhi memiliki sifat rasa pedas, pahit, dan hangat. Mengonsumsi ramuan dari ling zhi memiliki efek bersifat melindungi organ tubuh, membangun (constructive), mengobati, dan berdampak positif terhadap penyembuhan organ lain yang sakit. Sejauh ini belum pernah ditemukan efek negatif yang ditimbulkan setelah mengonsumsi ramuan ling zhi.
    Dari berbagai penelitian yang dilakukan di berbagai negara, ling zhi berkhasiat sebagai herbal anti-diabetes, anti-hipertensi, anti-alergi, antioksidan, anti-[inflamasi], anti-hepatitis, analgesik, anti-HIV, serta perlindungan terhadap liver, ginjal, hemoroid atau wasir, anti-tumor, dan sistem imunitas (kekebalan tubuh)
