Lions for Lambs adalah film Amerika Serikat produksi tahun is a 2007 American drama perang yang disutradarai oleh Robert Redford, mengangkat kisah tentang hubungan antara satu pleton pasukan Amerika Serikat di Afghanistan dengan seorang senator Amerika Serikat, seorang reporter, dan seorang guru besar California. film ini dibintangi oleh Redford, Tom Cruise dan Meryl Streep. Lins For Lambs merupakan produksi film pertama Cruise/Wagner Productions sejak perusahaan ini bergabung dengan United Artists pasca-perselisihan Cruise dengan Paramount Pictures pada 2006.
Latar belakang
Film yang diproduksi MGM dan digarap sutradara Robert Redford ini mengupas tiga cerita kehidupan yang awalnya tidak terlihat berkaitan namun pada akhirnya memiliki benang merah yang menghubungkan mereka.
Kisah ini bermula dari dua mahasiswa West Coast University, Arian (Derek Luke) dan Ernest (Michael Peña) yang terinspirasi oleh dosen mereka, Dr. Malley (Robert Redford), agar melakukan sesuatu yang penting dalam hidup mereka. Arian dan Ernest pun bergabung dalam wajib militer untuk bisa ikut berperang di Afghanistan. Keputusan tersebut membuat Dr. Malley merasa cemas dan terharu.
Sementara Arian dan Ernest mencoba bertahan hidup di medan perang, mereka menjadi benang merah yang menghubungkan dua kisah di tempat yang berbeda di Amerika.
Di California, Dr. Malley mencoba mempengaruhi seorang mahasiswa (Andrew Garfield) yang tidak seheroik Arian dan Ernest.
Sementara itu, di Washington D.C., Senator Jasper Irving (Tom Cruise), meminta bantuan seorang jurnalis TV (Meryl Streep) yang mungkin bisa menentukan nasib Arian dan Ernest.
