Lorne Michaels (lahir Lorne David Lipowitz; lahir 17 November 1944) adalah seorang penulis televisi dan produser film asal Kanada-Amerika Serikat. Dia menciptakan dan memproduseri Saturday Night Live (1975–1980, 1985–sekarang) dan memproduseri serial Late Night (sejak 1993), The Kids in the Hall (dari 1989 hingga 1995) dan The Tonight Show (sejak 2014).
Dia telah menerima 21 Primetime Emmy Awards dari 102 nominasi, memegang rekor sebagai individu yang paling banyak dinominasikan dalam sejarah acara penghargaan tersebut.




Awal kehidupan


Lorne David Lipowitz lahir di Toronto, Kanada pada 17 November 1944, dari pasangan Florence (née Becker) dan Abraham Lipowitz. Banyak sumber yang salah menyatakan bahwa ia dilahirkan di sebuah kibbutz di wilayah Palestina yang saat itu merupakan mandat Inggris, dan bahwa keluarga Yahudinya berimigrasi ke Toronto, Kanada ketika ia masih bayi.

Kehidupan pribadi


Michaels memiliki tiga anak dan telah menikah tiga kali.
