Lubin (bahasa Jerman: Lüben) ialah sebuah kota di Polandia barat daya, di Sungai Zimnica. Sejak sensus 2004, kota ini berpenduduk 77.625 jiwa.
Terletak di Provinsi Dolnośląskie (sejak 1999), sebelumnya di Provinsi Legnica (1975-1998), Lubin adalah salah satu kota paling dinamis di Polandia dalam hal perkembangan ekonominya. Markas perusahaan terbesar ke-3 di Polandia KGHM Polska Miedz terletak di Lubin.
Sejarah
Kota ini didirikan sekitar tahun 1170 oleh pemukim Jerman. Pada abad ke-12 kota ini menjadi pusat kastelan. Kota ini mendapatkan hak kota sekitar tahun 1295. Dari tahun 1331 kota ini milik mahkota Bohemia dan menerima keberuntungan politik Silesia. Pada tahun 1742 kota ini menjadi bagian Prusia. Pada tahun 1871 kota ini dihubungkan dengan jalur kereta api ke Legnica dan Głogów.
Selama Perang Dunia II sekitar 70% bangunan di kota ini hancur. Pada tahun 1945 antara 8-10 Februari Tentara Merah membantai 150 orang tua dan pasien RSJ di Lubin. Sebagai akibat keputusan Konferensi Potsdam, kota ini menjadi bagian Polandia dan penduduk Jermannya diusir dan digantikan oleh orang Polandia, yang banyak melarikan diri dari daerah Polandia Timur yang diduduki Uni Soviet.
Pada tahun 1982 terjadi demonstrasi di kota ini menentang keadaan perang yang dideklarasikan rezim komunis, yang dipadamkan oleh unit keamanan, menyebabkan kematian 3 jiwa.
