Microsoft Jet Database Engine adalah sebuah mesin basis data yang dibuat oleh Microsoft dan digunakan oleh banyak produk buatan Microsoft. Mesin basis data adalah salah satu komponen inti dari basis data, yang merujuk kepada kumpulan informasi yang disimpan di dalam komputer dalam cara yang lebih sistematis. Versi pertama dari Microsoft Jet dikembangkan pada tahun 1992, yang terdiri atas tiga buah modul yang juga dapat digunakan untuk memanipulasi sebuah basis data.
JET sendiri merupakan singkatan dari Joint Engine Technology, yang sering disebut dengan Microsoft JET Engine, atau cukup dipanggil dengan sebutan JET/Jet saja. Microsoft Access dan Microsoft Visual Basic telah menggunakan JET sebagai mesin pengolah basis data yang digunakannya. Akan tetapi, setelah Microsoft merilis Microsoft SQL Server Desktop Engine (MSDE), dan Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition serta Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Compact Edition, populeritas dari Jet menurun, apa lagi ketika tidak ada lagi komponen yang ditambahkan di dalam sistem sebagai salah satu komponen Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC). Untuk kebutuhan basis data yang lebih besar, basis data Jet dapat di-upgrade ke dalam produk basis data andalan Microsoft, Microsoft SQL Server.

There is no 64-bit version of the Jet Database Engine, the Jet OLEDB Driver, the Jet ODBC Drivers, or Jet DAO available.

As workaround suggestion for all to open successfully an instance of Import/Export wizard: from SSMS (Sql Server Management Studio) right click on a database, then Tasks, then click on Import Data or Export Data.

Jan 27, 2025 · So I have to restart the server, erase the .ldb temporary file and then click on "Compact and restore database" option under Database Tools tab. That fixes the problem.
