Sejarah
Berawal dari abad ke-16 berasal dari desa Miyamoto, yang dianggap sebagai tempat kelahiran Miyamoto Musashi, adalah bagian dari Mimasaka masa kini.
Kota Mimasaka saat ini didirikan pada tanggal 31 Maret 2005 oleh penggabungan kota Mimasaka sebelumnya dan bergabungnya kota-kota seperti Aida, Ōhara, Sakuto, dan desa Higashiawakura (semua dari Distrik Aida), serta kota Katsuta (dari Katsuta Distrik).
