Sambucus, nayar atau elderberi adalah sebuah genus tumbuhan berbunga dalam famili Adoxaceae. Genus tersebut awalnya ditempatkan dalam keluarga kamperfuli,Caprifoliaceae, tetapi diklasifikasikan ulang karena evidensi genetik. Genus tersebut terdiri antara 5 dan 30 spesies perdu tumbuhan peluruh, pohon kecil dan tumbuhan menahun terna.
Genus tersebut dapat tumbuh di wilayah panas atau subtropis di dunia. Lebih menyebar di Hemisfer Utara, Hemisfer Selatan-nya berada di bagian-bagian Australasia dan Amerika Selatan. Beberapa spesies ditanam untuk diambil daunnya, bunganya dan buahnya.
Dedaunan-nya berbentuk seperti bulu (pinnate) dengan 5–9 daun (biasanya 3 atau 11). Masing-masing daun memiliki panjang seukuran 5–30 cm (2,0–11,8 in)
