    Roger Ebert () (18 Juni 1942 – 4 April 2013) adalah seorang jurnalis, kritikus film, dan penulis naskah asal Amerika Serikat. Ia merupakan kritikus film untuk Chicago Sun-Times sejak 1967 sampai kematiannya. Pada tahun 1975, ia adalah kritikus film pertama yang memenangkan Hadiah Pulitzer untuk Kritik. Per 2010, kolom-kolomnya terbit di lebih dari 200 surat kabar di Amerika Serikat dan luar negeri. Ebert juga telah menulis lebih dari 20 buku dan sejumlah kumpulan ulasan filmnya.
    Ebert dan kritikus saingannya, Gene Siskel, membantu memopulerkan metode mengulas film yang disiarkan secara nasional setelah mereka berdua membawakan acara Sneak Previews di PBS. Acara ini kemudian dilanjutkan dengan beberapa program At the Movies. Keduanya sering melempar canda saat berdiskusi tentang film. Mereka menciptakan dan mematenkan kalimat "Two Thumbs Up" yang dipakai saat keduanya memberi ulasan positif terhadap sebuah film.     Setelah menderita komplikasi pasca-bedah berupa kanker tiroid pada tahun 2006 yang menyebabkan Ebert sulit berbicara, ia mulai beraktivitas lewat Internet dan mendapatkan banyak pengikut. Ebert meninggal dunia pada tanggal 4 April 2013 setelah berjuang selama 11 tahun melawan kanker.
    Neil Steinberg dari Chicago Sun-Times menyebut Ebert "tanpa keraguan sedikitpun kritikus film paling berpengaruh dan terpenting di Amerika Serikat", Tom Van Riper dari Forbes menyebutnya sebagai "komentator paling berpengaruh di Amerika Serikat", dan Kenneth Turan dari Los Angeles Times menjulukinya "kritikus film paling terkenal di Amerika".

    Ebert menjelaskan pendekatan kritisnya terhadap film bersifat "relatif, tidak absolut". Ia memberikan empat bintang untuk film berkualitas sangat tinggi dan setengah bintang untuk film berkualitas sangat rendah, kecuali jika ia menganggap film tersebut "tidak artistik" dan/atau "tidak bermoral", film tersebut tidak diberi bintang.

    Ebert dikenal sering mengomentari film dengan membawa-bawa kepercayaan Katoliknya sebagai patokan. Ia juga kritis terhadap film yang diyakini sangat acuh atau menghina agama Katolik, seperti Stigmata dan Priest, walaupun ia juga memberi penilaian positif terhadap film-film kontroversial bertemakan Yesus dan Katolik, seperti The Passion of the Christ, The Last Temptation of Christ, dan satir Dogma karya Kevin Smith. Meski begitu, Ebert menyatakan dirinya sebagai seorang agnostik.
    Ebert menyatakan bahwa film favoritnya adalah Citizen Kane sambil berkelakar, "Itu jawaban resmi," meski ia lebih suka menyebutnya film "terpenting" yang pernah ditontonnya.
