‘Izbet Sarta is a significant archaeological site perched on a hill next to the modern-day city of Rosh Ha’ayin, in central Israel. Dating to the early Iron Age, some scholars suggested identifying it with Even Ha’ezer, a battle site from the time of the prophet Samuel.
Izbet Sartah - Biblical Archaeology - Maps and Findings
Izbet Sartah is a small site adjacent to the western neighborhoods of Rosh Ha’Ayin. The site sits on a hill on the eastern fringes of the Samaria Hills and close to the coastal plain. Three layers of a settlement from the early Iron Age were discovered on the site, and identified by the researchers as an Israelite village.
