    Sofitel adalah merek jaringan hotel mewah yang dimiliki oleh grup perhotelan Prancis, Accor. Hotel ini paling banyak terdapat di Prancis, tetapi juga banyak ditemukan di seluruh dunia. Hotel-hotel Sofitel ditujukan bagi para pengusaha/pebisnis dan pelancong, dan pada umumnya merupakan hotel berbintang lima.


    Sejarah


    Pada tahun 1964, Banque Paribas mendirikan hotel Sofitel pertama, Sofitel Strasbourg Grande Île, di Strasbourg. Hotel ini merupakan hotel berbintang lima pertama di kota tersebut.
    Sofitel berkembang menjadi perusahaan internasional pada tahun 1970an. Mereka berekspansi ke Amerika Serikat pada tahun 1975 dengan membuka sebuah properti di Minneapolis. Visi Sofitel adalah untuk membawa "gaya hidup Prancis" ke seluruh dunia.
    Pada tahun 1980, Novotel-SIEH membeli Sofitel. Setelah berganti nama menjadi Accor tiga tahun kemudian, mereka memposisikan Sofitel sebagai cabang hotel bintang lima mereka, dengan kelas di atas merek-merek Ibis, Mercure, dan Novotel.
    Sofitel terus berkembang pada tahun 1990an, dengan ekspansi di Amerika Selatan dan Asia Timur. Setelah Accor membeli Compagnie Internationale des Wagons-Lits pada tahun 1991, mereka mengganti nama hotel-hotel Pullman menjadi Sofitel. Merek Pullman selanjutnya diperkenalkan lagi pada tahun 2007, di saat yang sama Sofitel merombakkan citranya menjadi hotel mewah. Jumlah hotel dikurangi hingga 50%, sementara pelayanan hotel yang masih menyandang merek Sofitel ditingkatkan.
    Pada tahun 2010, Accor meluncurkan So Sofitel, sub-merek Sofitel yang lebih berseni, dan didesain melalui kolaborasi dengan perancang busana terkenal, seperti Kenzō Takada, Christian Lacroix, dan Karl Lagerfeld. Sejak tahun 2020, So Sofitel dipasarkan sebagai SO/, salah satu merek hotel gaya hidup Ennismore.


    Properti


    Hingga tahun 2025, Sofitel mengelola 111 hotel di seluruh dunia, terdiri atas 26 hotel di Eropa, 17 hotel di Afrika, 42 hotel di Asia, 12 hotel di Oseania, dan 14 hotel di Amerika.
