Sonic the Hedgehog 2 adalah film komedi adiwira
didasarkan dari waralaba permainan video yang diterbitkan Sega. Film ini adalah sekuel dari Sonic the Hedgehog serta disutradarai Jeff Fowler dan ditulis oleh Patrick Casey, Josh Miller, dan John Whittington. Ben Schwartz kembali mengisi suara Sonic bersama dengan Jim Carrey sebagai Dr. Robotnik dan James Marsden dan Tika Sumpter sebagai Tom dan Maddie Wachowski; Idris Elba berperan sebagai Knuckles. Beberapa bulan setelah film pertama, Dr. Robotnik kembali dari planet jamur sementara Sonic bertemu Tails.
Menyusul keberhasilan Sonic the Hedgehog (2020) dan dengan rencana untuk seri film, Paramount Pictures mengumumkan sekuelnya pada Mei 2020.
