Executive producer and producing director Olatunde Osunsanmi said the fifth 5.180.24.3/?s=season" target="_blank">season would take more inspiration for its themes and storytelling approach from 5.180.24.3/?s=star" target="_blank">Star 5.180.24.3/?s=trek" target="_blank">Trek: The Original Series and 5.180.24.3/?s=star" target="_blank">Star 5.180.24.3/?s=trek" target="_blank">Trek: The Next Generation than the previous seasons did, and would feature "more exploration and more adventure". Frakes directed the first half of the finale and Osunsanmi directed the second half.
