Film ini adalah sekuel dari Thor dan Thor: The Dark World serta merupakan film ketujuh belas dari Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Film ini disutradarai oleh Taika Waititi dengan skenario dari Eric Pearson, serta dibintangi oleh Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Cate Blanchett, Idris Elba, Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson, Karl Urban, Mark Ruffalo dan Anthony Hopkins. Dalam Thor: Ragnarok, Thor harus mengalahkan Hulk dalam sebuah pertarungan gladiator untuk bisa menyelamatkan Asgard dari Hela dan tibanya Ragnarök.
    Film ketiga Thor ini dikonfirmasi pada Januari 2014, dengan judul dan keterlibatan Hemsworth dan Hiddleston diumumkan pada bulan Oktober. Di bulan yang sama, Waititi bergabung dengan film ini sebagai sutradara, setelah Alan Taylor memilih untuk tidak kembali setelah film kedua. Ruffalo juga bergabung menjadi jajaran pemain, memerankan karakter Hulk dari film MCU lainnya. Dengan masuknya Hulk, elemen dari alur cerita komik tahun 2006, "Planet Hulk" pun diadaptasi untuk Ragnarok. Pemain lainnya diumumkan pada bulan Mei 2016. Syuting utama dilakukan pada bulan Juli sampai Oktober, 2016, di Queensland dan Sydney, Australia.
    Thor: Ragnarok ditayangkan perdana di Los Angeles pada tanggal 10 Oktober 2017, dan dirilis di Amerika Serikat pada tanggal 3 November 2017, dalam 3D, IMAX, dan IMAX 3D. Film ini mendapat banyak ulasan positif, dengan banyak kritikus menyatakannya sebagai film terbaik trilogi Thor dan memuji arah Waititi, pemain, soundtrack, dan humor.     Plot


    Setelah peristiwa di Avengers: Age of Ultron, Thor yang kini ditawan di planet Sakaar tanpa palunya, harus memenangkan pertarungan gladiator melawan seorang kawan lama — Hulk — agar bisa kembali ke Asgard untuk menghentikan Hela dan tibanya Ragnarök, kiamat peradaban Asgard.
