Viverridae adalah suku mamalia berukuran kecil hingga sedang, berisikan 15 genera, yang terbagi lagi menjadi 38. Tingkatan Viverridae pertama kali dicetuskan oleh John Edward Gray pada tahun 1821. Banyak anggotanya yang disebut dengan Musang. Viverridae berada di Asia Tenggara dan Asia Selatan, melalui Garis Wallace, seluruh Afrika, dan Eropa selatan. Adanya mereka di Sulawesi dan beberapa daerah sekitar menunjukkan bahwa mereka merupakan hewan zaman tropis Dunia Lama.
