Yasna (bahasa Avesta: 𐬫𐬀𐬯𐬥𐬀) adalah nama Avesta untuk kegiatan upacara pemujaan utama Zoroastrianisme. Nama ini juga mengacu kepada kumpulan naskah tata peribadatan utama Avesta, yang dibacakan selama upacara yasna.




Penjelasan


Fungsi upacara yasna secara kasar digambarkan untuk memperkuat keteraturan rohani dan jasmani ciptaan Ahura Mazda terhadap serangan kekuatan penghancur Angra Mainyu. Upacara yasna, yaitu pembacaan naskah-naskah Yasna, berpuncak pada apæ zaothra, berarti "persembahan ke air." Upacara tersebut juga dapat diperpanjang dengan pembacaan naskah Visperad dan Vendidad. Upacara yasna biasa, tanpa perpanjangan, memakan waktu sekitar dua jam ketika dibacakan oleh seorang imam yang berpengalaman.
Naskah-naskah Yasna terdiri dari 72 bab, disusun pada waktu yang berbeda dan oleh penulis yang berbeda. Bab-bab tengah mencakup (secara linguistik) naskah-naskah tertua dari kanon Zoroaster. Naskah-naskah yang sangat kuno ini, dalam bahasa Avesta Kuno, yang sangat kuno dan sulit secara bahasa, mencakup empat doa Zoroaster yang paling suci, dan juga 17 bab yang terdiri dari lima gatha, kidung yang dianggap telah disusun oleh Zoroaster sendiri. Upacara


Fungsi keagamaan upacara yasna, an pelaksanaannya yang tepat, adalah untuk memajukan asha, yaitu upacara yang bertujuan untuk memperkuat apa yang benar atau tepat (salah satu makna asha) dalam keberadaan/ciptaan (makna lain asha) tatanan ilahi (makna lainnya dari asha). Encyclopedia Iranica merangkum tujuan upacarayasna sebagai as "pemeliharaan keutuhan semesta dari ciptaan baik Ahura Mazdā." Wawasan semesta dan akhirat Zoroastrianisme tentang tujuan umat manusia adalah untuk memperkuat ciptaan rohani dan jasmani yang teratur dari Mazda melawan serangan kekuatan penghancur Angra Mainyu. Dalam pertentangan itu, secara teologis, senjata utama umat manusia adalah upacara yasna, yang dipahami memiliki pengaruh langsung dan cepat: "jauh dari tindakan simbolis, upacara yasna yang tepat adalah yang mencegah semesta jatuh ke dalam kekacauan." Puncak dari upacara yasna adalah Ab-Zohr, berarti "penguatan air".
Upacara Yasna, yaitu pembacaan naskah-naskah Yasna, berpuncak pada Ab-Zohr, berarti "persembahan untuk air". Upacara Yasna dapat diperpanjang dengan pembacaan Visperad dan Vendidad.
Seorang imam yang terlatih mampu melafalkan seluruh Yasna dalam waktu sekitar dua jam. Dengan perpanjangan, dibutuhkan sekitar satu jam lebih lama. Dalam bentuknya yang biasa, upacara Yasna hanya dilakukan pada pagi hari.
