    Yona (Dewanagari: योन; ,IAST: yona, योन) adalah kata dalam bahasa Pali dan Prakerta, sepadan dengan kata Yawana (Dewanagari: यवन; ,IAST: yavana, यवन) dalam bahasa Sanskerta, yang digunakan pada zaman India Kuno untuk menyebut orang-orang yang berbahasa Yunani Kuno. Yona dan Yawana merupakan terjemahan dari kata Yunani Iones (bahasa Yunani Kuno: Ἴωνες < Ἰάoνες < *Ἰάϝoνες), atau bangsa Ionia, yang diduga merupakan bangsa Yunani pertama yang dikenal di Dunia Timur.
    Kedua istilah tersebut muncul dalam susastra Sanskerta. Kata Yawana biasanya sering muncul dalam wiracarita Mahabharata, sementara kata Yona muncul dalam naskah Mahavamsa.
    Kata Yona terdapat dalam prasasti Asoka, begitu pula dengan bangsa Kamboja, sebagai dua bangsa yang masyarakatnya terbagi menjadi golongan bangsawan dan budak.
    Secara umum, kata Yoṇa atau Yoṇaka merupakan padanan langsung dari bahasa Yunani, sedangkan kata Yawana merupakan kata India tulen yang dipakai untuk merujuk kepada bangsa Yunani Kuno atau Yunani-India.
