The 2024 SFL season was the 29th season of the Southern Football League (SFL), an Australian rules football competition played in the state of Tasmania. The season began on 6 April and concluded on 14 September, comprising a 16-match home-and-away season over 18 rounds, followed by a four-week finals series.
Cygnet won the SFL premiership for the sixth time and the second year in a row, defeating Lindisfarne by 54 points in the 2024 SFL Grand Final.
League membership
After only fielding a standalone team in the SFL reserves competition in 2023, the Hobart Football Club returned to the senior SFL competition.

In November 2024, the SFL executive formally accepted Tasmanian State League (TSL) clubs Clarence, Glenorchy, Kingborough, Lauderdale and North Hobart into the competition for the 2025 season as part of the re-established SFL Premier League. The TSL disbanded at the end of the 2024 season in preparation for the Tasmania Football Club to enter the Victorian Football League (VFL) in 2026.
