Alexandra Baker (born 1982 or 1983) is a British Labour Party politician serving as Member of Parliament (MP) for Aldershot since 2024.
Early life and career
Baker received a Bachelor of Arts in Technology and History of Art from the University of Birmingham in 2006.
She began her career as a political officer for the Co-operative Party, and subsequently worked as a Co-operative Group membership officer. Baker worked in several roles on the Battersea Power Station regeneration prior to her election to Parliament.
Political career
Baker was elected as the MP for Aldershot at the 2024 general election, defeating her Conservative predecessor Leo Docherty. She became the first non-Conservative to represent the constituency since its establishment in 1918, as well as its first ever female MP. On 9 October 2024, she made her maiden speech in the House of Commons during a debate on the Renters' Rights Bill.
Personal life
Baker has two children.
