Ammonium hexafluoroplatinate forms pale yellow crystals of cubic system, space group Fm3m.
Chemical properties
Ammonium hexafluoroplatinate hydrolyses, foming the insoluble platinum(IV) hydroxide:
(NH4)2PtF6 + 4H2O → Pt(OH)4 + 4HF + 2NH4F
