Survei Seluruh Langit 2 Mikron (bahasa Inggris: The Two Micron All-Sky Survey) atau 2MASS adalah sebuah proyek astronomis paling ambisius yang meliput seluruh langit dengan gelombang inframerah-dekat. Proyek ini menggunakan 2 observatorium yang masing-masing terletak di belahan bumi yang berbeda: Observatorium Fred Lawrence Whipple di Amerika Serikat (terletak di belahan bumi utara) dan CTIO di Chili (terletak di belahan bumi selatan)
Antara tahun 1993-2005, sebanyak lebih dari 400 publikasi menggunakan data-data 2MASS yang saat itu masih merupakan rilis awal. Publikasi-publikasi ini memaparkan benda-benda langit yang hanya bisa diamati jelas dengan inframerah-dekat. Selain itu, 2MASS juga memiliki tujuan seperti:

Menyediakan pemandangan yang berbeda tentang Galaksi Bimasakti. Adanya inframerah-dekat membuat debu-debu (Galaksi Bima Sakti) yang menghalangi dapat ditembus sehingga terkuak struktur-struktur yang belum pernah terlihat dan distribusi massa yang sebenarnya.
Menyediakan katalog galaksi lebih dari 1 juta, termasuk yang berada di halangan debu Bimasakti.
Menyediakan data objek yang langka tetapi penting, seperti katai coklat




Nama


Pendahulu 2MASS adalah The Two Micron Sky Survey (sehingga ia disingkat TMSS) yang berdiri pada tahun 1968. Disebut dua mikron karena observatoriumnya menggunakan detektor Timbal(II) sulfida dengan nitrogen cair yang menjadikan detektornya sensitif pada gelombang 2.2 mikron. TMSS pada waktu berhasil mengamati sekitar 75% langit. Kemudian pada tahun 1990an, 2MASS didesain untuk menyediakan sensitivitas, keseragaman, dan cakupan langit yang memungkinkan pengguna datanya dapat melakukan studi terhadap langit berskala besar seperti Galaksi Bima Sakti dan alam semesta lokal. Karena itu, 2MASS dapat melihat bintang yang berevolusi melalui piringan Bima Sakti serta mendeteksi galaksi-galaksi di luar batas cakupan pengamatan.
