Areopagos, Areopagus atau Areios Pagos (bahasa Yunani: Άρειος Πάγος, "bukit Ares") merupakan sebuat tempat di barat laut Akropolis yang pada masa kuno digunakan sebagai tempat untuk mengadili perkara kejahatan. Di Athena. Dewa Ares (dewa perang) pernah diadili di sini oleh para dewa atas pembunuhan yang dilakukannya terhadap Alirrothios, anak Poseidon. Dalam Eumenides karya Aeskhilus (tahun 458 SM), Areopagos adalah tempat pengadilan Orestes atas pembunuhan terhadap ibunya, (Klitemnestra), dan kekasih ibunya, (Aegisthus). Seorang bernama Dionisius, disebut sebagai seorang anggota majelis Areopagus.
Istilah "Areopagus" juga dapat merujuk pada sebuah badan yudisial, yaitu majelis yang menangani bidang pendidikan, moral, dan keagamaan di dalam komunitas, dari kalangan aristokrat yang pada nantinya akan menjadi majelis tinggi di Yunani modern.
Catatan Alkitab
Areopagus disebutkan dalam bagian Perjanjian Baru di Alkitab Kristen, khususnya dalam tiga ayat pada Kisah Para Rasul pasal 17:
Kis 17:19: Lalu mereka membawanya menghadap sidang Areopagus dan mengatakan: "Bolehkah kami tahu ajaran baru mana yang kauajarkan ini?"
Kis 17:22: Paulus pergi berdiri di atas Areopagus dan berkata: "Hai orang-orang Atena, aku lihat, bahwa dalam segala hal kamu sangat beribadah kepada dewa-dewa."
Kis 17:34: Tetapi beberapa orang laki-laki menggabungkan diri dengan dia dan menjadi percaya, di antaranya juga Dionisius, anggota majelis Areopagus, dan seorang perempuan bernama Damaris, dan juga orang-orang lain bersama-sama dengan mereka.
