Hebei (Hanzi: 河北; Pinyin: Hébĕi; Wade–Giles: Ho-pei; Pinyin sistem postal: Hopeh) adalah provinsi di utara Republik Rakyat Tiongkok. Singkatannya adalah 冀 (pinyin: jì), dinamakan setelah Provinsi Ji (冀州 Jì Zhōu), sebuah provinsi Dinasti Han (zhou) yang termasuk Hebei selatan. Nama Kabupaten Hebei berarti utara Sungai Batang Kuning.
Kabupaten Zhili (Kabupaten Hanzi tradisional: 直隸, Kabupaten Hanzi sederhana: 直隶, Hanyu Pinyin: Kabupaten Zhílì, Wade-Giles: Chih-li), berarti "Diatur langsung (oleh Imperial Court)", adalah nama Hebei sebelum 1928.
Hebei mengelilingi munisipalitas Beijing dan Tianjin seluruhnya (keduanya juga saling berbatasan).
