Johannes Acronius Frisius (1520 – 18 October 1564) was a Dutch medical doctor and mathematician of the 16th century.
He was named after his city of birth, Akkrum in Friesland. From 1547 he worked as professor of mathematics in Basel, then after 1549 as professor of logic, and in 1564 of medicine. He died from the plague in the same year. Apart from mathematical and scientific works, he wrote Latin poetry and humanist tracts.
According to the Historical Dictionary of Switzerland, "nothing justifies the usual identification of A[cronius] with the philologist and botanist Johannes Atrocianus".

Johannes Acronius Frisius, oder Johannes Atrocianus Frisius (* wahrscheinlich 1520 in dem westfriesischen Dorf Akkrum; † 18. Oktober 1564 in Basel) war ein Gelehrter, Arzt, Astronom und Mathematiker. Der humanistische Gelehrte ist nach seinem Geburtsort Akkrum (Gemeinde Boarnsterhim) benannt.
Johannes Acronius (of Atrocianus) Frisius (Akkrum, Friesland, 1520 - Bazel, 18 oktober 1564) was een 16e-eeuws Fries arts en wiskundige. Hij werd genoemd naar zijn geboorteplaats Akkrum. Vanaf 1547 werkte hij als hoogleraar wiskunde in Bazel, na 1549 werkte hij als hoogleraar in de logica, en vanaf 1564 als hoogleraar in de geneeskunde.

Nevét szülőhelyéről kapta. 1547 -től a Bázeli Egyetem matematika professzora majd 1549 -től a logika professzora és 1564 -ben az orvostudomány professzora. Ugyanebben az évben a pestis áldozata lett.
