The Shining adalah film horor psikologis tahun 1980 yang diproduksi dan disutradarai oleh Stanley Kubrick dan ditulis bersama dengan novelis Diane Johnson. Film ini berdasarkan pada novel tahun 1977 dengan nama yang sama karya Stephen King dan dibintangi oleh Jack Nicholson, Shelley Duvall, Danny Lloyd, dan Scatman Crothers. Film ini menyajikan kisah tentang seorang pecandu alkohol yang sedang dalam masa pemulihan dan seorang novelis yang bercita-cita tinggi (Nicholson) yang menjadi gila dan mengambil pekerjaan sebagai penjaga musim dingin untuk hotel resor pegunungan berhantu bersama istrinya (Duvall) dan putranya yang indigo (Lloyd).
