Kakeibo (Jepang: 家計簿code: ja is deprecated , Hepburn: kakeibo), adalah metode menabung dari Jepang. Kata "kakeibo" dapat diterjemahkan menjadi "buku besar rumah tangga" dan secara harfiah dimaksudkan untuk manajemen keuangan rumah tangga. Struktur kakeibo bervariasi, tetapi ide dasarnya sama. Di awal bulan, pengguna kakeibo menuliskan pendapatan dan pengeluaran yang diperlukan untuk bulan berikutnya dan memutuskan semacam target tabungan. Pengguna kemudian mencatat pengeluaran mereka sendiri setiap hari, yang ditambahkan bersama-sama pertama kali di akhir minggu dan kemudian di akhir bulan. Di akhir bulan, ringkasan pengeluaran bulan itu ditulis dalam kakeibo. Selain pengeluaran dan pendapatan, pemikiran dan pengamatan ditulis dalam kakeibo dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran akan konsumsi sendiri. Sejarah
Kakeibo dikembangkan oleh jurnalis asal Jepang Motoko Hani yang pertama kali mempublikasikan Kakeibo dalam sebuah majalah wanita pada tahun 1904.
Konsep dasar
Seluruh metode ini berpusat pada empat pertanyaan utama:
Berapa banyak pemasukan?
Berapa banyak yang harus ditabung?
Berapa banyak yang akan dihabiskan?
Bagaimana cara untuk bisa lebih berhemat lagi?
Selanjutnya, biaya dapat dikelompokkan menjadi empat kategori:
Kebutuhan dasar (misalnya makanan, pakaian, sewa rumah)
Kebutuhan tidak mendasar (misalnya makanan yang dipesan diluar)
Kebudayaan (misalnya pergi ke museum, membeli buku-buku untuk dibaca)
Yang tidak dapat diperkirakan (misalnya janji kesehatan)
